  1. Trying to reach you Hannibal. We met when you conducted the project in New Jersey commemorating Emmit Till and his Mother was there. We have a score of an opera that was written for Marian Anderson called “Nannie Johnson”. We would like to discuss this project with YOU. Please call (215) 732.9505 or 856.966.1688.

  2. Mr. Lokumbe,

My name is Alan Stevens. I am the principal at Patton ES in Austin, where you performed for our students on Friday, March 12th during our Arts Day celebration. I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the time you spent with our children. Your music and historical insight was marvelous for our children to experience. I was particularly touched by the time you spent with our more profoundly disabled students during your performance. They are so often the forgotten audience. I was very moved by the time you spent with our visually impaired student. It was an experience she will never forget. We are having the inscription on the CD you gave her translated into Braille and placed on the CD jacket, so that she can always have your words to remember.

You are truly a special musician and individual. Thank you for taking the time to enrich the lives of our students, parents, teachers, and particularly, myself. I hope you enjoyed your time at Patton as much as we enjoyed sharing with you.

  3. My name is John LaFosse. I am from Maine where Jazz and anything similiar has been erased from the radio for decades. There is one program I recorded from Maine Public Radio that plays contempory Jazz and featured Swing low sweet chariot and some cuts from African Portraits. You were of course the featured musician of the week. I wore out that tape and boasted to otheres that Hannibal Marvin Petersen was one of the greats and no one had every heard of you. It feels good as a listener to find a recording of someone whom is truly dedicated to the art.You make everyone else want to quit playing. :-)
